I’m a huge believer in taking time out for yourself. Taking some time to relax, decompress and escaping reality for a little while is much needed. If it’s just taking a long hot bath, painting or drawing or even watching old episodes of Doctor Who just to escape the world, do it.
My personal favorite, taking a long hot bath. No one can ask you to do anything and you can’t take work with you into the tub, so taa daw, the ultimate get away. One of my favorite hot baths is my “detox” bath. I love to add, epson salt, lavender baby oil and sea salt into my bath. It smells amazing and gets your blood flowing, helping with pulling out all the impurities out of your skin, relaxing the muscles with the epson salt, the lavender oil moisturizes your skin giving you that baby soft skin and the sea salt also helps cleans as well. OH and of course light some candles and kick off those lights. Yes, I even do this bath pregnant, however I have a little trick with the bath, because I now have a 36 week bump, I now take a towel into the tube with me, as you can imagine the bump doesn’t make it into the water like the rest of my body, so I take the towel and soak it in the tub and place it over my bump. YAY, bump and I are fully covered.
Now for the fun part, getting out. As you can imagine the oil may have made you tub a little slippery, no worries, obviously take your time getting out , I always keep a towel over the edge of the tub to help push up and wipe my hands off and if you’re pregnant, take you towel you had covering your bump, place it under you in the tub and help yourself up or of course you can always grab your better half to assists.
Now depending on how relaxed I am, I will hit the shower for one last rinse off and rub the oil in a little more or wrapped up in my favorite robe and stay warm. Letting my body soak up all that moisture. Mmmmm just writing about it makes me want to jump in right now.
One last thing I do to wrap up my “me time” I enjoy a nice cup of tea. If I’m heading to bed soon I will make a cup of chamomile or currently I’m enjoying my traditional medicines pregnancy tea.
Speaking of teas, my last post I stated I would share a instant chai tea latte mix I found online.
Instant Chai Tea Latte Mix Ingredients:
2 1/2 cups of white sugar
1 cup of powdered creamer
1 cup of powdered vanilla creamer
1 1/2 cups of unsweetened instant tea
2 teaspoons of ground ginger
2 teaspoons of ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon of ground cloves
1 teaspoon of cardamon
Blend all ingredients (in a food processor) until the mixture is fine. Store the ingredients in a air tight container and when you are ready to have a cup, simply scoop out 2 tablespoons of the mix into you favorite mug, add water and ENJOY!!
So my cup of chai tea latter to yours, CHEERS!!
